Remedial massage is the combination of several different techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, stretching and myofascial release. Remedial massage is great for helping with tight, achey and tense muscles and is also great for specific injuries or pain whether it be chronic or acute.
Remedial massage helps remove scar tissue, improve circulation and flexibility of the muscles, pressure may be light or very firm depending on your needs, tolerance’s and goals. At Sydney Chiropractic and Remedial Massage, our therapist has 10 years experience, and has helped 1000’s of people with pain and injury.
Massage therapy is utilized by most professional athletes and teams as integral part of there training, to help recover from hard training sessions and injuries quicker. Sports massage is also used by many non-professionals for exactly the same reasons, traditionally there are two types pre-event or post-event.
Most commonly sports massage is used through out the training schedule to help with injuries/tension accumulated from certain sporting activities. A good sports massage is always tailored to your specific sport and addressing underlying faulty mechanics which is likely to be setting up the injury in the first place.
Our remedial and sports massage therapist also has 5 years university training in chiropractic, his knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics far exceeds that of most other remedial and sports massage therapists.

How is the massage offered at Sydney Chiropractic and Massage different?
Kieran uses an extremely effective form of theraputic and remedial massage, known as Steve Lockhart Myotherapy (SLM). Myotherapy (SLM) treats the body as whole in a single session removing, stress, tension and imbalances; which the vast majority of people suffer from today; usually as a result of excessive sitting, stress, trauma, poor posture and injuries.
Myotherapy (SLM) is based on the premise the body is a single unit, and pain and injury is more often than not a result of tension occurring at a distant location to where the symptoms are felt, too often this fact is neglected and most therapies focus on the sight of pain; while not addressing the underlying tension and imbalance that set up the problem in the first place.
At Sydney Chiropractic and Massage you get a dedicated professional who has both the training and experience not offered any where else in Australia to help you overcome tension, pain and injury. Kieran offers a combination of massage & chiropractic, and massage as a stand alone therapy, ensuring a tailored treatment for your individual needs.
